• Clean your gutters regularly. If it is not safe for you to do so, have them professionally maintained throughout the year.
• Repair loose shingles and inspect your roof (especially if it is older than 5-10 years).
• Store your precious belongings (such as photo albums, flash drives, mementos, old books, collectibles) in plastic storage containers.
• Store important documents (birth certificates, social security cards, wills, passports, tax returns, deeds, etc.) in a fireproof safety box
