What to do after a commercial water damage

7/10/2019 (Permalink)

Business owners and Property Managers deal with all sorts of water damage emergencies. It could be a slow leak from a water fountain, rainwater after a bad storm, burst pipes, broken water lines, etc.

Here are some things you can do if you ever experience water damage. Turn off the electricity (but only if it is safe to do so).  Try to locate the source and attempt to shut it off.

Never use home vacuums to remove water from a building to avoid the risk of electric shock. Call a trusted restoration company to help with the water mitigation process.  Try to stay away from dirty or murky water, since it might contain waterborne bacteria and ALWAYS wash your hands after coming into contact with damaged or dirty items.
